Khalil Hodge (Galesburg, Ill./Galesburg) drained eight 3-pointers and erupted for 27 points, leading the Carl Sandburg College men’s basketball team in a 101-60 blowout of Eureka JV on Monday night.

Hodge, a freshman guard, finished 9 of 17 from the floor and 8 of 15 from beyond the arc off the bench as the Chargers (6-2) hit the 100-point mark for the first time this season and won their fourth straight contest.

Chargers sophomore forward Deandrey Robinson (Peoria, Ill./Peoria) added 15 points and a team-best 10 rebounds for his fourth straight double-double and fifth in the last six games.

Sandburg also got 14 points, five rebounds, five assists and three steals from freshman Elias Akale (Ashdad, Israel/Mekif Tet), and sophomore guard Tyler Dugan (Abingdon, Ill./Abingdon-Avon) came off the bench to hit 3 of 5 3s and score a career-best 11.

The Chargers, who led 55-31 at halftime, made a season-high 15 treys and shot 58 percent (41 of 71) from the field. It marked the seventh consecutive time Sandburg has made at least 50 percent of its shots.

Sandburg will take some time off for Thanksgiving before returning to action at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 27 at home against John Wood. The women’s contest against the Blazers will tip off at 5:30 p.m.
